Welcome to Poverty; Being the 99%
Welcome to Poverty; Being the 99%
As I survey the field of Presidential hopefuls I am completely discouraged. The current president seems to be throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing if something sticks. If it sticks he runs with it and if it falls forget it. The country is being run that capriciously.
And the Republicans are no better, “No More Taxes” and the wealthy make the jobs. Really where have they been for the last decade when this country has been hemorrhaging jobs right and left but over seas in countries which have lower safety requirements in the work place and they pay less taxes if any taxes at all. How unpatriotic? And corporate American has done this during one of the longest wars in our history. All with the consent of not one party but both parties. So everyone in DC needs to go. All of then need to be collectively kicked out of DC which is nothing more then an elaborate welfare system in which amoral people betray there fellow citizens for cold hard cash. The only thing I can guarantee you is that if they think you are weak they will come for you next. American has become the former Soviet Union. And we live in a tyranny in which no one is safe.
So I have entered the class of the 99% lately. I have to say it isn’t so bad. I use to have a lot of money growing up. The problem with having money is you never truly understand the people’s motivations for being around you. When you have no money you have very few people around you. They think poverty is contagious. Maybe it is as it has certainly hit this country like a plague. Don’t kid yourself we have it worse then in the depression. It is just the media and the government doesn’t want anyone to know.
But I am good with being poor as I don’t have people interrupting me and asking me for things mainly money any longer. No more tax returns to file either. There are real advantages to being poor. The bill collectors do stop calling you when they realize you have nothing to give. And so as I write this I am completely depleted. In a country that has forsaken its people so terribly in the name of greed. And it is both parties and independents as well. Greed is rampant in politics as it is everywhere else.
And I am paid up. I have paid all the way through as Master’s degree and finished most of my doctorate. That is a lot of peso’s my friend. And who is getting hired? Unskilled foreigners who will work for nothing but food stamps, a place to live and cash slipped to them under the table.
When wealthy you have an imagine to protect. You always have to be fashionable and wear make up and can never have a bad day. When poor there is no imagine. It is like you don’t exist. You are a ghost in society in which people just wish you would go away from their sight and not have to be bothered with you. And I have been getting up everyday applying for jobs since March. Sometimes and most times as many as ten a day. The employment search engines have given up on me.
But here is the good news. I am one of the 99% of people who are ghosts in this country. People who have been forsaken by their government and their communities for their own personal greed. And let me tell you something this will have to end because it is effecting too many people in this country. It is always difficult to listen to a person in the news media who leads a very luxurious life and receives millions and millions of dollars talk about taxes or poverty in America when it doesn’t effect them. The media gets healthcare, and money and they aren’t worried about not having presents for their children for the holidays. They aren’t us and can no longer lead us. Just as DC is not us and can no longer lead this nation.
They can’t even make certain that people have jobs or that disabled children have healthcare and education. The government with corporate Americans funding and the media spinning the stories every which way to save face have completely and totally destroyed the prosperity of this country for what? A few people’s wealth?
I hear and this is only what I have heard that Barack Obama makes Howard Taft look like a conservative of the taxpayers money. After Taft came world war. And so too shall it be upon this country once again and who will be left to fight. It will not be the people who have denied healthcare, starved and depraved. The only people who have been funded are those lousy lazy people in DC, Hollywood and the wealthy and they are the greatest tax on the American People in this country.
My point is when our government allowed our country to become so impoverished and allowed children to go hungry and people to be so unemployed chasing wealth half way around the world they have forsaken our national security. And it is not one party but both of them. And every last politician needs to pack up and run to the front line of the war and fight because they made this mess and it is time they finally clean it up. And there is not one candidate out there that isn’t pro-establishment either by wealth or by participation.
So there really isn’t a choice in America. We live in a repressive communist regime sanctioned by both parties for the corrupt wealth of but a few. It is total and complete communism.
So I don’t care about another foreign country and its aid. Aid starts in America. And as far as I am concerned until every last person has a job for a living wage then our national security is totally and completely compromised. It isn’t enough just to employ people but they must also be given a living wage and the opportunity for social mobility which does not exist in America today.
Government by Corporate America for itself is not government it is crime. And it is time it is over. And it is not random crime but large wide scale crime across America. And for all of you who have held so tightly to your money let me tell you. It can and will happen to you before it is over. But it will be nice when you are poor because then you will realize who were your friends and who weren’t.
Is This Article The Way To Get Employed or Helped?
I can hear some of you already. Wow is she bitter. If only she wrote more positive articles then she would be employed. This is equivalent to blaming the rape victim for being raped. I have been positive. I don’t think anyone writes over 400 articles in 6 months that isn’t a positive person. And the majority of what I have written is very positive. But I can’t always be Ms. Mary Sunshine on Hubpages when there are true problems going on in our country. Our people are completely disenfranchised and left in poverty. We have more children being brought up in poverty now then ever. And I care about everyone. It is part of my DNA. I can’t have apathy towards the plight of the poor. Apparently, in order to be president this is a key quality. I also care about National Security although the greatest risk to our national security is our government. And they are so busy trying to hang onto power they can’t see the forest through the trees. They are the problem with this country and they always have been. The people are good. It is the government which is bad. And until everyone in DC can accept and take personal responsibility no one need vote.
And I have been Ms. Mary Sunshine a lot on Hubpages but there will be a few people who pick this one article apart and try to define me with it. Sorry I am not so easily defined. Ms. Mary Sunshine would like to see the sun come out another day in the USA which has been immersed in darkness for over a decade now.
