Therapeutic Benefits of Taking the 100 Hub in 30 Days Challenge
I recently completed the 100 hubs in 30 day challenge. It was really consuming and a lot of work but I m glad I did it. I pushed myself beyond all reasonable limits in the challenge and made very high demands of myself. It wasn’t easy but it was good to push myself so hard to find myself meeting this challenge.
It was also a real juggling act as I was moving and I have my son who I always take care of first and there were many obstacles that I could sight as reasonable barriers to completing this challenge and yet I didn’t let any of them stand in my way and I still managed to make it while maintaining all my responsibilities at home which are considerable.
As many writers I believe writing is rather therapeutic but as a scientist I would also have to allow that I have no scientific evidence to substantiate this belief. And honestly I haven’t been looking for evidence to substantiate this belief so my confidence interval on this is less then 95%.
That was until I was forced to go to the doctor. I missed my first appointment as I was behind and needed to make up the time on the 100 hubs in 30 days challenge. The next appointment I attended and I was told I had lost a considerable amount of weight. I had noticed my clothes were lose but I am not a superficial person so I don’t really pay attention to things like that. But apparently I lost a great deal of weight. Ok, I wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I just accepted it and ask to leave but the doctor insisted one a blood test which seemed to me odd. Why would I need a blood test if I was losing weight but I didn’t want to waste anymore time so I just gave blood. A few days ago the doctor’s office called and they wanted to know what life style changes I had made in the last 3 months? I couldn’t imagine any. I eat basically the same food everyday. I had not increased my exercise if anything I had exercised less.
The doctor’s office put me on hold and rechecked with the lab and then informed me my cholesterol was completely normal. If anything I had more good fat which a woman thinks the terms good and fat are oxymorons then bad and my cholesterol was completely normal and had dropped 40 points.
So not only do I have the satisfaction of completing the 100 hubs in 30 days challenge but I dropped considerable weight and lowered my cholesterol to normal without additional exercise.
And as a scientist I never believe n=1 so my experience alone is not enough to prove anything but I am wondering if other author’s who have taken this challenge have similar experiences? I would imagine it could not only apply to diet control but smoking cessation as well.
Admittedly the challenge of 100 hubs in 30 days is very challenging and you do end up having to be well planned and skip a few meals in order to complete it, Subsequently, I ended up writing a lot of recipes because I was just plain hungry but I am healthier for it. And while this isn’t definitive proof it is noteworthy for any of you interested in taking the 100 hubs in 30 day challenge.

I'm so sorry. I hadn't realized that your mother just died. That must be tough to handle. I wish I coudl get back into exercising. Once I get motivated, I am usually fine but once I fall back into not exercising, it's hard to pick it back up again.
Wow, that's great, and healthy. It's funny that your doctor was concerned about your weight loss. I wish it would work for me but I am on the 30 hubs in 30 days challenge so I don't think I will lose any weight doing that. At first I thought that was a hug challenge I would never be able to meet, but once I started, it seemed like a challenge I could meet. Thanks for writing this hub. It was inspiring!
Hey JT just starting to catch up on reading some hubs, thats great that you're healthier! thats awesome that you lost weight while finishing the 100 hubs challenge! i noticed you're only 2 hubs away from 400! You're doing great!
This is great that you were able to lower your cholesterol while participating in the challenge. I tend not to skip meals, so I am more likely to overeat and gain weight. But we'll have to see when I get to my 100th hub.

Hi Karen,
No worries. Sudden weight lose is a sign of cancer. I need to get back into swimming again. I am just waiting for it to warm up a bit. But the hub challenges do seem to keep me from being able to eat. I lose weight during them everytime.
I need to exercise though. That would be the best rememdy for my cholesterol and weight.
Really no worries and lovely to correspond with you.
