The Real Life of Hub Pages' Writers

The Real Life of Hub Pages' Writers

It is amazing when I meet other writers. Writing has changed so significantly in the last decade that it is no longer just the elite. As I am writing this I am sitting in a coffee shop with my son. Across from me is another friend who is a free lance copy righter She is also a song writer, music producer etc... When she asked what I do I am by day a Scientist who is working on an intervention for children with Autism for mass distribution but then when I need a break from that reality I am busy writing for Hub pages which I might add has paid regularly for me.

Hub pages gave me the introspection and the time to find what I really wanted to do. I must also say that all of the writers are so supportive and wonderful. It is really a great community. And I write on everything if you read my work. I write recipes to politics. Each and every article is as if I am sharing with a good friend. So the secret life or double life I lead is that of a writer for Hub pages.

During the day I am pounding the payment conversing with corporate sponsors. I also give scientific lectures. I give presentations to potential sponsors as well as speak at advocacy groups for children with Autism. When I come home, my son receives his home schooling and I work on the intervention and other pilot studies I am trying to get funded. There are some evenings when I don't go to bed until 2 clock am and then others when I fall asleep in the chair at 6:30 pm. It is really exhausting work.

I thought about writing a hub on how to write articles of incorporation or by-laws for a non-profit but depending on what the mission statement if of your non profit those can be very different. Besides I thought it would be more interesting for all of you to know what the human experience of starting a non-profit is like. It is exhilarating in many ways because you are building something from scratch but then it is also very difficult. One thing I did discover is I am my only employee and I am a horribly demanding boss. Boss of the year is not in my future. I wouldn't even vote for myself.

And yet, I keep working at it every single day hoping that one day my non-profit will be complete and I will be able to mass distribute my scientific intervention to children with Autism. It is not a dream of wealth of the monetary persuasion but one of the spiritual persuasions. To give hope to all of those families and children who suffer without adequate help is my dream. For each of those families to know that I am working each and everyday to deliver them a scientific intervention to help their children is my goal.

Hub pages was a big part of this goal coming to fruition. First I managed to make several good friends on Hub pages although they shall remain anonymous for their own sakes. But then I also just recognized the good in general of all the people writing on Hub pages. In turn I acted in kind. The small amounts of money I have received have helped me pay for some of the incorporation which has been rather expensive. Actually success is expensive which no one ever seems to mention or mind.

So My secret life on Hub pages whether you deem it good or bad has lead me to making a scientific discovery and an intervention. Due to the generosity on Hub pages, I am in turn creating a non-profit with the funds I have earned from Hub pages to provide this intervention at low or no cost to families in need. No matter where you are on the political spectrum the education of children with Autism needs to be addressed.

In Conclusion

All of you who have read and commented have made all of this possible as those small checks are paving the way to helping children with Autism. I thought when I began I would be a Hubpages writer forever and I probably will but not as prolific as I use to be because I have found another way to help society. It all began here with one hub. The real life of Hubpages writers is that they are all real people. They don’t live in Ivory towers but are out there in the world just trying to make a difference and perhaps a little money.
