Mssion Impossible 4 Preview

Mission Impossible is based on the 1960(s) television series about covert operatives for the government. But Tom Cruise has brought this series out of the little box and onto the silver screen. And perhaps this is the only series of films (including Harry Potter) in which I believe each film successively has been better then the last. And Cruise acts his heart out in each film which makes the fans more loyal and loving.

It is rare to see an actor, producer or anyone else that dedicated to a franchise but Cruise apparently is and has done done so with mastery.

When the movie opens Sergio (Ethan Hunt) is in a Gulag. A team is sent in to break him out. Simon Pegg is just genius, Paula Patton is as beautiful as she is deadly and Josh Holloway from Lost joins the team. Paula Patton's character has lost codes to nuclear weapons and breaks Hunt out to retrieve those codes.

Noteably this plot is much more sophisticated then the others as there is a ittle hickup in the operation and there is a minor explosion in the Kremlin. And once again Hunt and his team are framed as terrorists. So they have be disavowed and they are ordered to go off the grid by the Secretary of State who incidentally is murdered. Hunt acquires the Secretary's analyst and they go underground and back to work.

Review

The action is just phenomenal in this movie and it is by far the best in the series. It is well worth the ticket price just to see it. The acting is outstanding and the scene in which Cruise/ Hunt is climbing Burj Khalifa is just mind blowing. There were actually moments, during the fight scenes, where I winced in pain for the actors who seemed to do most if not all of their own stunts.

And this is the first Mission Impossible in which there were humerous moments. I would think that might be a touch of Brad Bird influence in the project. I actually heard people laugh out loud which is welcomed in this day and time.

I have been to India and it has never looked better then In Mission Impossible 4. I haven't been to Dubia but MI4 also makes it an attractive tourist spot. I might mention the BMW were fat rides in Mumbia. And the technology was also fantastic in the movie even though they had a good enough sense of humor about it to point out that techology will never be as realiable as people.

What I was really afraid of when I went to see this film was that Cruise would have sold out Ethan Hunts through line and the franchise would lose it's integrity but Cruise stayed true to the character and you can only see how in the last five miniutes of the film.

I would also like to mention Jeremy Renner's performance which was stellar as well.

MI4 really is a classic film which should probably be renamed MI$. I would hate to see Cruise walk away from this franchise that he has put so much into.
