How I Doubled My Hub Traffic Overnight
In the beginning…
It is always the beginning on Hubpages it is one of the things that drew me to this type of work. Hubpages is constantly changing updating and renewing itself as a business enterprise on the internet with both informative and humorous material from authors all over the world. To be a Hubpages writer is to know you will never be an expert because it is always constantly changing. That is what makes it so interesting to be apart of. My experience has been vast but I still have a lot to learn and I have been on Hubpages for over a year.
It is always a beginning with each article I write.
What I Don’t Understand?
So there are definitely things I don’t understand how to do yet. About six months in I started doing research and I have a technical paper being reviewed for publication now. This must be hysterical for a lot of my readers out there because I am almost more famous for my typos then my content. I had an editor on my professional publication so that is how I made it.
I should probably pretend I understand but I don’t understand the concept of back linking or SEO. I actually dread these words as they are worse then Greek to me.
So I have been sticking to what I know pumping out articles in regular intervals that are higher in quality then when I began. I use more internal links to my own articles then I link to others, back link or SEO. Why? I know I will maintain my own work. One several occasions I have linked to other authors who have pulled there work which left me scrabbling. They were impatient people who expected to make money immediately and a lot of it. My expectations were more modest. I simple wanted to write and be read. Now to be clear I have been paid and I started a foundation with that money. I was happy to be paid but it was not my sole motivation in writing for Hubpages.
Suddenly I Noticed These Little Icons on the Right Hand Side of the Screen.
Now I have been burned before for someone claiming I put too much stuff on Google+ at once. Google+ didn’t kick me off. But I noticed this little button named Pin. I already tweet my articles and put them on Face Book. I belong to a few writers’ groups on face book as well. But I knew nothing of this Pin. So yesterday I started pinning things. I don’t think I pinned half my articles on what I now know is called, “Pinterest”. It was very simple as I broke my writings into 10 categories and just pinned them on there. It was actually a quick and fun.
Today
I woke up to discover my hub traffic doubled over night. And the numbers are still rising. I don’t know if Pinterest is considered a back link but it has brought me a great deal of traffic with minimal effort. It is really very exciting. In time when I am through building my foundation and completing my professional publications and research I may actually learn everything there is to know about being the ultimate Hubber on Hubpages but today I am simply happy to have discovered Pinterest.
