Thanksgiving is always a wonderful holiday. You could eat and then lie around watching football games. Well actually if you are the cook, you end up cleaning up as well.
Thanksgiving is a cherished time we get together with friends and family to have a feast. So if you are the cook I have done some leg work for you this year and I am offering you some new recipes on preparing turkey stuffing. I will of course write hubs later covering the Turkey and perhaps the ham as well. But this one is dedicated to the Turkey stuffing.

My Secret Family Recipe
I will share my family secret recipe on for my readers. Of course, it is extraordinarily simple as are all my recipes.
- I put the neck and innards in two cups of water with celery leaves and peper corns and bring it to a boil. I lower the heat then let it simmer for thrity minutes.
- Wash and chop three-five stalks of celery.
- Dice one yellow onion
- Toast a loaf of stale rye bread. Process it into crumbs.
- Wash and chop one quarter cup of thyme
- Add kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
- 1 raw egg
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add egg and mix well. Once the water which cooked the neck and innards as well as the celery cools(broth), add it in but only enough to make the stuffing moist.
Stuff inside Turkey cavity and cook or cook in a casserole dish at 350 for about 25-30 minutes.*
* Cooking times vay with ovens.
In Conclusion
A little research in advance and it will save you a lot of time preparing your Thanksgiving Holiday meal. There are variations on this meal. For instance you can use oysters in the dressing which is very popular or you can use hot sausage.
You can always add more onions or celery. Chopped bigger pieces and onions and smaller pieces of celery. You can use white bread instead of rye or you can use more broth and skip the egg. It really is all up about your preference.
I hope you enjoy my secret family recipe and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
