Amanda Knox Saint or Sinner?

Amanda Know was a 20 year old girl who moved to Perugia Italy to study art. What is almost always left out of the media is that Perugia is known as the Disneyland of drugs. There is a sub culture of addicts who live in that area of Italy who are addicted to both heroine and cocaine. It is exceptionally frowned upon by the Italian authorities as it increases the crime rate and puts all of the peaceful law abiding citizens in danger.

Now no one has exactly explained what Amanda Knox was doing in Perugia. I have lived in Rome. I can tell you that you don't live there unless you are invited to. The Italians are wonderful and kind people but they want to with they are dealing. They do expect you to follow their culture. There are cultural expectations when you move there to assimilate. One of which is children do not involve themselves in illicit drugs, partaking of alcohol or even drinking more than one fanta soda a week, I have literally been cut off the fanta soda. If you are a tourist it is one thing but if you are living in Italy it is another.

As liberal as Italy's adults are they are very conservative when it comes to young people. I remember being caught after dark in a skirt on the streets of Rome. I had a mob of boys practically pull all of my hair out. My little Italian friend managed to get me away and we ran but I never wore a skirt again after dark. Sexual promiscuity is very frowned upon by young women and Amanda Knox was very promiscuous atleast by Italian standards.

Short answer is when in Italy do as Italians and nothing more or less.

There are many questions left to ask of this family. Like why did Amanda Knox move to a country in which she didn't speak the language and didn't know anyone? Why did she move to the Disney Land of Drugs? Perugia is specificlly known for this problem. Anyone who knew anything about this area of Italy would have known this young girl was moving to a very dangerous place. So why did Amanda pick this place besides the obvious reason of drugs? She knew no one. She didn't even speak fluent Italy which is always a curse to move to a country, not speak the language and get into legal trouble. Italy loves tourists but if you live there you have to live by their rules.

You have to wonder what the parents were thinking just to allow their daughter to move to the Disney Land of drugs? If they had asked any Italian or googled that area of Italy they would have known.

And still yet Amanda is known to have smoked Hash. She isn't in trouble for drugs but for the murder of her room mate Meredith Kercher. Anyone that finds themself living in a place know as the Disney Land of Drugs in a foreign country that has a body turns up, expect to go to prison for life. As a matter of fact if Amanda Knox had been prepared properly to live in Italy I doubt she would have ever lived in Perugia. What is for certain is that she was an adult when the murder took place and therefore she is solely responsible.

In the USA we would be just as hard on an Italian that was engaged in drug use on a student visa and their room mate turned up murdered.

There is also the behavior of Amanda Knox which seems to be without consciousness or remorse about her room mates death. Only drug addiction would explain this behavior other then that; psychosis or guilt. Drug addiction is viewed very differently in Italy then it is in the states. Drug addiction is considered a disease here but in Italy is it is a failure of character.

In all probability the Italian Police know Amanda Knox is guilty. There has been more than enough international attention and press regarding the Knox case inorder for Italy to make certain the case is on the up and up. Besides Italians don't readily convict innocent people atleast anymore readily then American's convict innocent people.

I can tell you that the people of Perugia and the criminal authorities are tired of the drug culture there. And they can't take the murder of Meredith Kercher lightly because of the English government.

I just can't figure out why they haven't extradited Amanda back to the United States to serve the rest of her sentence on the USA dime. I think it is a horrible mistake of the press and the American people to habitual and continually back the Italian government back into the corner by making claims of in propriety. Only Italians are able to judge other Italians. It is a culture unto its own. One in which Amanda Knox had no rights in and one which her parents have no rights.

There will never be a second chance for Meredth Kercher and Amanda Knox whether she likes it or not was her room mate and responsible. I am not holding my breath for the appeal because I don't think Amanda Knox will get it. Although I am certain Hollywood is already breaking down the doors for the movie rights and the book rights.

I should think all parents have a responsibility to investigate when their child says they are moving to another country to study. There are perfectly good schools in the USA. Obviously Amanda Knox was moving to Perugia for another reason and red flags should have been going up in all the adults minds that guided and assisted Ms. Knox that she was in way over her head.

Sadly she will probably spend the rest of her life in jail because no one was smart enough to catch on to the fact Amanda Knox was not capable of living in Italy, she didn't have the social supports necessary nor the class or intellect. Besides in 10 years when Amanda Knox is fat, ugly and toothless the Italians will let her go as she will have no use by then in Italian standards. But I am not certain we should have to endure having Amanda Knox back here either. After all we have had to endure this incredible stroy of stupidit to its zenith for four years now. Amanda Knox isn't that cute, bright, talented or worth it. If she had been she would have never found herself in that position to begin with.

I know this hub comes across incredibly hard but let it serve as a warning to all parents who allow their children to go over seas without speakng the language, having social supports in place or quite frankly the class and intellect. It is a club of who survives in Europe and it is select and few. There are rules. No one just hops a plane to a drug den, has their room mate murdered and walks away free. It doesn't happen. Not even for those with social supports, class, intellect, money and speaking the language fluently.

As international travelers we must all be mindful we are guest and follow our hosts rules.

Well you have to say this for Amanda Knox she certainly has made a great deal of money noff of Meredith Kercher's Death. There has been a movie deal and she is selling her book on Matt Lauer and still yet she will not face the Italian Authorities. This is a country in which she moved to of her own free will. Now she is claiming PTSD? I wonder how the Kercher family fells or Italian authorities.

And if she is innocent then why a second trial? She can't cry poor mouth she has sold the movie rights as well as pandered her books. Meredith is dead. I do not feel sorry in the least nor am I interested in this story any longer because it is a murder suspect capitalizing on her roommates death. Even if, which I do not believe, Amanda Knox is not guilty of murder she is guilty of capitalizing off Kercher's death and for that she should be ashamed.
